Revisited after a few years. Other people have written it, but I still feel unsanitary. It's become a famous store now, but is it because it's been a long time since the expectations have grown too high? Is the impression.
Usually not a fan of udon but this place is really good. Ordered a hot udon, received within 3 minutes. Despite getting fried stuff, the meal didn't feel too heavy. The broth is delicious too. All for under 700 yen!
冷やしとり天ぶっかけ並450円味も値段もボリュームも充分ですね。うどんはコシがありしっかり冷えてる、天ぷらは熱々サクサクジューシー!次は大盛にしてもいいかもしれない。

It takes about 1 minute on foot from Gotanda Station to get to the shop.It is a shop where you can enjoy delicious udon and tempura with high cost performance!There are many shops in front of the store, but the turnover rate is good, so you can often get in immediately.The menu is smooth, so I think it's a style that comes in quickly and eats out!The space in the store is about 12 people and is not so large. The water is self-serving!Don't make a mistake as it's a style where you can buy meal tickets first and line up 😆
Affordable price. Went at a correct time and able to get in without queue, about 10am. Recommends chicken tempura as it’s delicious and portion size is just nice for a fair breakfast. First is to Order ( ticket purchase) then get in line. Once being cued, get in via either the left or right door, depending on your place. Once you are ready, place the purchased ticket at the top of your table on the counter and they’ll pick up and make your noodles! This place only has standing counter, with water server. Does not recommend bringing baby/toddler.
Looking at the word of mouth, I lined up before the opening in anticipation.I had a large tempura udon noodle, but it wasn't quite what I expected.The soup has a taste of dashi, but it was too refined, or the saltiness was too light for me.I think noodles are stronger and more delicious than normal standing udon.The topping tempura was normal, but the shrimp tempura was delicious.I think all the prices are very cheap.I don't describe the reason for the deduction in detail, but I was disappointed that the movements of the employees often made me feel unsanitary.I want you to wash your hands properly if you touch something dirty.It is a subtle place when asked if I should go again.
It's good, but i cant understand why it is so famous. Place is small and cramped.

Authentic and delicious Udon, made fresh right in front of you. There isn't any english, but you order using the machine outside, wait to be called in, and place your ticket on the table. You eat while standing, but the warm belly is worth it.

The restaurant usually has a waiting queue in front of it though, you can soon enter as udon doesn't take much time to eat.Oni-yanma also has several stores in Tokyo, i.g. Shimbashi.
This Udon noodles is very al dente and tasty. You have to wait in line for some minutes because this restaurant is small. But this is stand-up eating Uson noodles one, so the line is moving quickly.

Even though it is a quick bowl of udon kind of place. The cold udon is out of this world with the tempura chicken and tempura 🍥 . (even if the weather is cold order the cold one. It's much much better than the hot udon) It's really tasty and at 530 yen super great value. Order on the machine maybe a bit difficult if you don't know any Japanese (you can use google translate camera function) but order the big button with picture on top which is the recommended dish.
We tried the cold udon. It was good on a hot day. The fried stuff are crispy and tasty. Ambiance is nil but it's an experience just like the locals. I would come back. Average cost 300-500 yen per person and that will get you full!
Taste is delicious. But i will not recommend this place if you are not familiar with japanese culture. Rules are difficult even if Japanese.
GREAT CHEWY UDON (best cold) with crisp juicy chicken tempura (which are warm). The broth is also light and refreshing without leaving you parched after downing it. Only downside is the vending machine ordering system that doesn't have any translation. Get help if you need!

Amazingly affordable udon that is tasty as well. Noodles are served within 2 minutes, and you'll have to eat while standing up. Try the premium tempura udon (¥500+) which includes 2 prawns, chicken, and vegetables. Don't forget to slurp up the soup too!
Best udon I have ever had! Service was good and tempura was really delicious! I highly recommend this place! The only downside is there are no seats and the lines can get quite long

I found the best Udong in Tokyo ! At the beginning since I found this place, I cam here 3-4 times per week. The price is very reasonable, taste is also great. Especially the ちくわ is really nice !! I love here so much.

Unique standing restaurant (立喰い)and late night Udon in the heart of Gotanda. The restaurant is super small, only a room for 10 people. How to eat at this kind of place is very simple: you come, you eat, and you go, make it fast, not more than that. After you buy a udon ticket at the vending machine, the chef would already start to cook, and by the time you are at the table, the food is already ready. This time I chose Cold udon with chicken and chikuwa tempura (冷うどんとり天ちくわ天) with shrimp tempura (えび天) as an extra topping. The soup is very good and refreshing especially in the heat of summer. The tempura are all newly fried, and goes very well with the udon and soup.Recommended for those who wants a super cheap meal with high quality. Despite an unhygienic look inside the chef's area and very small room for the customers, the table and the utensils are clean to the Japanese standard.

A shop recommended by your friends. The tempura and the dashi stock were really delicious. The store isn't so beautiful, but I understand why it's popular. I want to go again.
Stand-up noodle shop that is open from 7 am to 3 am. The inside of the store is miscellaneous, but there is no filth. The size of whether 10 people can do it. We had a warm tempura udon on a winter morning. 500 yen with shrimp, carrots and toriten. Dashi is clear Kansai-style, noodles are thin and smooth and easy to eat. Tempura feels soft and plump, rather than freshly fried and crispy. Even the clothes are delicious, and the rotation of the noodles, soup and tempura goes on comfortably.
There's usually a line as not a lot of people can fit into the standing area of the store, but the food is served really fast so the wait isn't terrible. The udon is really good and very reasonably priced for the amount you get. Additional fried items can be ordered separately, accents the plain udon very well.

We have trouble ordering from the machine because no translation. We randomly picked our food. I got a hot udon with squid, chicken and meat tempura. Udon is chewy and dense, but the tempura are quite greasy. There are self-serve water. It is a small restaurant and have stand up to eat the udon. We have to wait outside and let them call us to go in for our food. Food came very quickly. During lunch time there is a long line up.
Good japanese Udon noodles. If you have a japanese friend, You should try to have it.
